Yoga Day 2019: International Yoga Day is being celebrated on 21st June every year Worldwide. After PM Modi’s suggestion, the United Nations declared a 21st June as a celebration of the International Yoga Day with a mantra to keep the whole world healthy.
This year’s Yoga Day theme is Climate Action. June 21 is the biggest day of the year and on this day World Music Day is also celebrated.
When is Yoga Day celebrated?
International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21th worldwide. After PM Narendra Modi’s suggestion, the United Nations declared a 21 June as a celebration of the International Yoga Day and witha healthy mantra to the world.
How did the Yoga Day start?
In many countries around the world, people do yoga to stay healthy and fit But the beginning of the International Yoga Day started with the initiative of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate Yoga Day on September 27, 2014 around the world. The United Nations General Assembly had announced its event within just three months after the proposal arrived.
The General Assembly announced on 11 December 2014 that 21st day of June will be celebrated as Yoga Day in the world. After which people from all over the world celebrate 21 June every year as International Yoga Day.
India had made the record on first international Yoga Day
On June 21, 2015, the first International Yoga Day was celebrated, in which over 35 thousand people and representatives from 84 countries under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made 21 postures of yoga on Delhi’s Rajpath.
This ceremony received two Guinness Records The first record is 35,985 people with the biggest yoga class and the second record is to participate in this event by the people of 84 countries.
