Former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj (67) died on Tuesday night. She was admitted to AIIMS after complaining of chest pain. In a tweet 3 hours before of her death, Sushma Swaraj congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir.
In her last tweet she wrote, Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime.
Her death is actually a loss to the world! Prime Minister Modi also tweeted after her death that, death of Sushma ji is a personal loss for me.
Sushma Swaraj body has been cremented peacefully. Meanwhile, right from Yesterday Twitteratis are no stone unturned in terms of giving tribute to this Iron Lady of India.

A Political Journey of Sushma Swaraj
Sushma contested the first election in 1977. She was then 25 years old. She became the youngest MLA in the country by winning elections from Ambala seat in Haryana. She was also made a minister in the Devi Lal government of Haryana. In this way she became the youngest minister of a state. Became the first woman Chief Minister of Delhi in 1998
In the nineties, Sushma became active in national politics. She was made a Uion minister in Atalji’s government. In 1998 she resigned from Atalji’s cabinet and to become the first woman Chief Minister of Delhi. However, in the next Dehi Assembly elections, BJP lost and after the party’s defeat, Sushma left the Assembly membership and returned to national politics.
She lost to Sonia in Bellary Lok Sabha seat in 1999
Sushma became an MP from South Delhi in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections. After this, she was made Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the government of Atalji for 13 days. She again became an IB minister when Atalji’s government was formed in March 1998. In 1999 she contested the Bellary Lok Sabha seat against Sonia, but she lost to her.
Foreign Minister from 2014 to 2019
Sushma won the Lok Sabha elections from Vidisha in 2009 and 2014. She was the External Affairs Minister from 2014 to 2019 and helped Indians all over the world through her tweets. She had decided not to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections due to health reasons. However, after BJP’s victory, people were thinking she would become foreign minister again, but she did not take the post of minister due to ill health.

Sushma Swaraj was born on 14 February 1952 in Ambala, Haryana. Her family was associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. She studied law from Punjab University and started practicing as a lawyer in the Supreme Court in 1973. Sushma was married to Swaraj Kaushal in 1975. Swaraj Kaushal is a lawyer. He has also been the Governor of Mizoram. He became the youngest governor of the country in 1990, when he was 37 years old. In 1998, he was elected as a Rajya Sabha member of Haryana Vikas Party candidate. Sushma has a daughter named Bansari Swaraj. She is also a Lawyer.
