Former BJP leader, a renowned Farmer leader and Former MP Vitthal Radadiya has passed away this morning at the age of 61. Radadiya died at his residence in Ahmedabad and his mortal remains will be kept at a hostel at Jamkhandorna in Rajkot district on Tuesday between 7 am and 12 noon for people to pay last respects, said his son and Gujarat Tourism minister Jayesh Radadiya.
The official information of his death this morning was given by son of Vitthal Radadiya and the state government’s cabinet minister Jayesh Radadiya.
“Saddened to hear about the demise of former Porbandar MP Vitthalbhai Radadiya. Gujarat has lost a powerful farmer leader. He will always be remembered for his contribution in the field of cooperative, education, and political sphere. May God give strength to the family members to bear the loss,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted Vitthal Radadiya
“Saddened by the demise of senior BJP leader Shri Vitthalbhai Radadiya. I express my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti,” Chief Minister Vijay Rupani tweeted.
Vitthal Radadiya, whose name doesn’t need introduction was considered as one of the greatest leaders of Bhartiya Janta Party especially in Saurashtra region of Gujarat and was the Former MP of Porbandar constituency.
Vitthal Radadiya’s death is a great loss to Gujarat BJP and among the farmers and Patidar samaj, as they are considering his death creates vacuum. Journey of this man was not so simple journey of progress in Political and Family life.
Indeed, there have been many Ups and Downs in his life and the choices that he made at that time helped in shaping in his achievement. There were constant struggles in his family and Political life. But Vitthalbhai continued his life by defeating every hurdles instead he accepted as challenge. Whether it was the BJP or Congress, Vitthalbhai was the considered as the Dabangg leader. Also popular as ‘Chhote Sardar’ in Saurashtra.

Vitthalbhai Radadiya holds BA Degree, he was also a social worker before joining Politics. However, Farming and social service remained the foundation of his life. He had served the social service to Saurashtra Leuva Patel Samaj community with holding various positions in cities including Nathdwara, Dwarka, Haridwar, Mathura, Delhi. He has also built Gaushala in Jamkhandorna, Rajkot. Other than that, his biggest dream was for Saurashtra region, to make a different Saurashtra.

Political Journey of Vitthal Radadiya
Radadiya was a powerful figure in Gujarat’s co-operative sector with a strong base among farmers of Saurashtra, Radadiya represented Dhoraji Assembly constituency five times since 1993.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Porbandar in 2009 on a Congress ticket, before joining the BJP in 2013, and then getting re-elected from the seat in a bypoll.
He played the role of mediator between the state BJP government and the Patidar community agitating for quota.
Radadiya went on to retain the seat in the 2014 general elections.

Vitthalbhai’s was also considered to be Weather God as he used to switch the parties manier times. Wheather he was in BJP or in Congress, his power remained the same. Influenced by Modi’s ideology, he left the Congress to join the BJP. His son Jayesh Radadiya is also a politician and also holds the portfolio for Gujarat Minister of Tourism and, separately, of Aviation.
His wife Chetan Ben has also been president of the Rajkot district panchayat in the past.
Tragedy A part and Parcel
The struggle remained constant in Vitthalbhai’s Family Life. Two of his four sons died at a young age. The four sons include Vaibhav, Kalpesh, Jayesh and Lalit. Jayesh Radadia is currently a cabinet minister in the government while a fine social worker and businessman. Whereas, Vaibhav and Kalpesh were died at an early age.
In 2014, Vitthalbhai Radadiya married off Kalpesh’s widow Manisha and gave her a big amount of money as gift in her second marriage. This gesture attracted lot of publicity and earned him huge respect. It was Kalpesh’s friend Hardik Chovatiya who married Manisha in a heartwarming gesture. The wife is still a social worker.
When Hardik Patel made a reservation agitation against the government, then Chief Minister Anandiben Patel asked Vitthalbhai to mediate and comeup with a solution on the matter.She also went to meet him in Jail. There was also a literal blow between Hardik Patel and Vitthalbhai. There were disputes between them but later both compromised.
Radadiya had sparked a controversy in October 2012 also after brandishing a gun at a toll booth employee in Vadodara district. Another video of Radadiya went viral in a video, surfaced on the social media, the MP from Porbandar constituency of Gujarat is seen repeatedly kicking an old man.
Vitthalbhai underwent for treatment in US two years ago for a complex disease like cancer. After returning home, he was rehabilitated and was undergoing for treatment at Zydus Hospital, Ahmedabad for long. Later, he was living with his son in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
